Successful Adult Baptism Course Concludes at St Christopher’s
I am thrilled to share the wonderful news of the completion of our Adult Baptism Course, which ran over the past 6 weeks. This course, designed for those preparing for baptism, concluded this past Sunday with four eager and dedicated participants: Gerald Satherley, Emma Males, Koon Ng, and Jane Zheng.
It was my joy and privilege to facilitate this course, and I am grateful for the enthusiasm and commitment shown by all the participants. Throughout the course, they engaged eagerly in the discussions and showed a real hunger for God's Word. Their willingness to learn and grow in faith has been truly inspiring.
We used the Pilgrim: Turning to Christ course material, published by the Church Publishing House. This course is centred on helping people explore what it means to become disciples of Jesus Christ. As the preface aptly states, “The aim of this course is to help people explore what it means to become disciples of Jesus Christ. From the very beginning of his ministry, Jesus called people to follow him and become his disciples. The Church in every generation shares in the task of helping others hear Christ’s call to them and follow him.”
The course covered six key topics:
Do you turn to Christ?
Do you believe and trust in God the Father?
Do you believe in his Son Jesus Christ?
Do you believe in the Holy Spirit?
Do you repent of your sins?
Do you renounce evil?
It has been a true blessing to see the participants grow in their understanding and commitment to the Christian faith. I want to thank Gerald, Emma, Jane, and Koon for their keen interest and dedicated participation.
As this course concludes, I am excited to announce that Gerald and Emma will be baptised this coming Sunday, 23rd March, at the 11am service at St Christopher’s. This will be a special and joyous occasion for our church family, and we look forward to celebrating this milestone in their faith journey.
