Dear Friends
Market Morning is only a couple of sleeps away. Our amazing volunteers have been busy setting up stalls and arranging goods in the Church Hall since yesterday. Please pray that all the setting up goes well and that everyone keeps good health through this time. And don’t forget to come by on Saturday and get good bargains.
I was delighted to join the Chinese congregation of our church in their monthly service last Sunday. It was a special service, celebrating the baptism of Belinda Yu. Belinda did not come from a Christian background, and her exposure to Christianity came through the Chinese ministry of our church. So she is a real fruit of Guan and her team’s ministry. It was great that her husband, who is not a Christian, attended the service. I got the chance to talk to him during the meal time. I asked him how he felt about his wife becoming a Christian and getting baptised. He said he fully respected her decision, even if he does not believe in Christianity himself. I thought Belinda was fortunate to have such a supportive and understanding husband, because I knew other situations where the non-Christian spouse wasn’t supportive and became rather antagonistic toward the Christian spouse. Please pray for Belinda and her family. Pray that she would continue to grow in her faith, and that her family may also be led to faith in Christ at the God-appointed time.
I would like to invite you to attend the last instalment in our Discipleship Series, taking place this Sunday over morning tea (10am). I will be speaking on the theme “Consummation.” To whet your appetite, here is a preview to what I will be sharing:
“The New Heavens and the New Earth are our eternal home, and those who love and serve God will experience the removal of the curse and the consummation of God’s original purposes for mankind.”
I hope you will plan to come along this Sunday.
Our regular services will take place as per normal, at 9am and 11am. I look forward to seeing you in our church.
God bless you,
Deo
