Confirmation marks the point in the Christian journey at which you affirm for yourself the faith into which you have been baptised and your intention to live a life of committed discipleship. This affirmation is confirmed through prayer and the laying on of hands by the confirming Bishop.
The Confirmation and Membership Course is for:
Those desiring to make a deeper commitment to the local church of St. Christopher’s
Those wanting to join the wider Anglican Communion through Confirmation, or
Those who simply want to learn more about St. Christopher’s: who we are, what we believe, and what it means to be a faithful follower of Jesus Christ.
The following topics will be covered:
Church History (with a focus on the Anglican Church)
The Authority of Scripture
The Christian Life and Faith
Anglican Worship and the Book of Common Prayer
The Sacraments
For those wishing to pursue Confirmation, attendance at all classes is required. In the event of illness or unavoidable schedule conflict, ONE class can be made up by watching a video recording.
This course is free of charge, but you have to register, no later than 1st October, to let us know you plan to attend. To register, please send an email to office@stchristophers.co.nz. Alternatively, fill out a registration slip during one of the Sunday Services, and drop in the offering bag or the church office door slot.
