A Ministry of Invitation, Hospitality, and Gospel Proclamation
1. Vision & Purpose
The Haere Mai Project is an intentional effort to create welcoming spaces where people can explore the Christian faith through personal invitation, hospitality, and community. By running the Christianity Explored course in small home groups, we aim to introduce non-Christians to the hope we have in Christ while strengthening the faith of believers.
2. Key Dates & Timeline
April 20 (Easter Sunday) – June 8 (Pentecost Sunday): Seven-week Christianity Explored course
February 16 – March 2: Call for hosts, facilitators, and group members
March 16 & 23: Training sessions for facilitators and hosts
March 30 – April 13: Formation of groups and final preparation
April 20 (Launch Sunday): Official start of Haere Mai Home Groups
June 8 (Pentecost Sunday): Closing reflections and next steps
3. Haere Mai Home Groups – Structure & Expectations
Each group will:
Meet weekly in a host’s home, with 6-12 participants (half Christians, half invited non-Christians)
Be led by a trained facilitator using the Christianity Explored material Include fellowship, Bible study, a video, discussion and refreshments
Be encouraged to continue as a group after the course, if desired
4. Volunteer Roles & Recruitment
Hosts
Open their home for weekly meetings
Provide a warm, welcoming environment
Assist in hospitality but do not need to lead discussions
Facilitators
Lead group discussions and guide participants through the material
Receive training and ongoing support
Can also be a host if willing
Group Members (Christian Participants)
Commit to attending the sessions and contributing to discussions
Personally invite one non-Christian friend or family member to join
Call for Volunteers (February 16 – March 2): If you feel called to serve as a host, facilitator, or group member, please fill out the Response Form (available here) and return it to Tineke in the office.
5. Existing Home Groups & Haere Mai
Current home groups are invited to participate but must adjust their format to align with the Haere Mai vision (50% Christian, 50% non-Christian).
After the course, groups may return to their original format or continue in their new setup.

Facilitator Training Sessions: March 16 & 23 (times TBC)
Host Briefing Sessions: March 16 & 23 (times TBC)
Christianity Explored booklets and guides provided for free
